Front End Development, WordPress

A Cleveland based client needed a landing page for a local award. We were tasked with design and a quick development turnaround. Using frameworks such as Bootstrap help to cut the development time in half.

A simple design was chosen to highlight both the recipients and the medal. The homepage provides a path to both of these while keeping the content brief. Interactive elements for both sections highlight this.

Mobile Friendly and Cross Browser Ready

The site was tested thoroughly to ensure that the site worked just as well on mobile devices. This was accomplished with Chrome dev tools and a variety of iOS and Android devices. Browser Sync allowed me to view click and scroll events simultaneously on many different browsers and devices during my QA testing.

Working on development projects closely can lead to issues being unnoticed. Using Bugherd allowed testers to identify any issues early so I could resolve them before launch.

The designer, Elias Julian, created some location icons to highlight the different aspects of the medal design. Using Bootstrap’s drop-in element made for a quick solution.

The Cleveland Heritage Medal is bestowed upon individuals who have made a meritorious contribution to the welfare and development of Cleveland and its citizens.
